It Starts with You!
We’re shaking things up and trying something new. We realize at the start of the year we ask you to sign up for various events and activities, but we all get too busy and can hardly remember what we’d like to do. So, we’re asking you to let us know you’re interests. When the time comes, we’ll let you know the event and our needs and we can work together to find the right type of volunteer opportunity that fits your style. Whether you’re a Type A leader and organizer or a parent that shows up the day of and says “put me to work,” we’ve got a place for you.

Here’s our general category, or “group” list. Join a Group or two, and we’ll email you when something comes available and you let us know the role that suits you best. You can download the PTO Volunteer Form and send it to school, or if you’re a member, go to PTO Volunteer Manager.
Academic Enrichment Group: Supports programs such as clubs, library book fair, library read-a-thon, literacy night, math night, science night, and more.
Art and Music Group: Supports programs such as clubs, yearbook cover competition, Art & Writing Contest, and more.
Cougar Spirit Group: This is the MOST active group! Volunteers support programs such as popcorn Friday, fall festival, football game, BINGO, movie night, Valentine grams, silent auction talent show, 5th grade dance, yearbook, staff/teacher appreciation, and more.
Free Money Group: Collect, sort and find opportunities to bring in additional revenue to MVES PTO through programs such as Box Tops, Grocery Store Cards, School Kids and more.
Landscape Group: Works with the MVES Principal to implement Greening MVES, find additional grants and funding, and continue the engraved brick program.
Physical Fitness Group: Physical Fitness Group. Supports programs such as the 5K Race for Education, athletic clubs, and more.
Technology Group: Works with the computer lab at MVES to determine needs and seeks additional grants and funding for technology.
