Box Tops Competition Starts Today!

The class that brings in the most Box Tops wins SMENCILS for their entire class!

The final Box Tops Competition for the school year begins today and ends on May 25th. Box Tops are a great way to earn free money for the school by simply clipping and saving Box Tops from products you usually purchase.

Quick tips on how to win:

  1. Be sure to clip out the Box Tops carefully around the dotted line.
  2. Put the Box Tops in a zipper baggie and label with your teacher’s name and the number of Box Tops – you’d be surprised at how many don’t come in labeled with your teacher’s name and this is critical for you to win!
  3. Send in to school before May 25th to help your class win SMENCILS for the class!

Thanks for supporting our school by participating in this fun competition!

An Eagle Scout Project at MVES!

Miles Dewey of Boy Scout Troop 924

The MVES PTO received a terrific gift this year – a Boy Scout willing to work hard to help our landscaping initiative!

As his Eagle Scout Service Project, Miles Dewey of Boy Scout Troop 924 proposed to build picnic tables for MVES. He had to come up with the plans, acquire funding, secure materials, and lead a team of Boy Scouts to build from scratch 2 tables and install them on the front lawn of MVES.

The picnic tables are part of the PTO’s landscaping initiative to bring the classroom outside. The long term plan includes installation of 5 picnic tables to hold a class of 30 students. Through classroom donations, grants, and awards, the PTO is also adding trees to the front lawn for shading as well as to be used as a science project for classification, botany, life cycle study, environmental studies, and more.

A HUGE thank you to Miles Dewey and his scout team for all of the hard work building and installing the benches over the weekend. You have given our school a terrific gift that will make learning fun and encourages the MVES mission of “Educating Lifelong Learners.”

Boy Scouts from Troop 924

If your classroom would like to plant a tree for Earth Day, please email info@mountainviewpto.org and click here to download a flyer of the details we have approved from the county.

If you know of a Boy Scout that is interested in a service project, please also have him email info@mountainviewpto.org.
