We’ve got a sneak peek at what’s in store this weekend at the MVES Silent Auction at the MVES Talent Show! Visit the PTO Website at www.mountainviewpto.org/events/2012-Silent-Auction-Items/ and plan your bidding. New items are being added daily, so keep checking back!

• Friday, March 2nd: Sneak Peek and Bidding, 5 PM – 7 PM, Battlefield High School
• Saturday, March 3rd: Bidding 5 PM – end of intermission, Battlefield High School. Bidding ends promptly at the end of intermission and will be announced on-site. Winning bids announced during MVES Talent Show. Baskets may be picked up at the end of the MVES Talent Show. Cash and checks accepted.
• MVES Talent Show at Battlefield High School, Saturday, March 3rd: Concessions available at 5 PM. Doors to the auditorium open at 5:45. MVES Talent Show starts at 6 PM.

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all of the teachers at Mountain View and all of the families for participating in creating the amazing baskets for the auction. The parents and teachers obviously had fun choosing themes and packed baskets full of fun items for kids and adults. We’re looking forward to the fun on Saturday – Happy Bidding!

Guest Stars: THE KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS!

All players, students, families and fans are invited to participate in the Mountain View Elementary School Cougar Spirit Night on Feb 23rd from 5pm-9pm for wings and sports at Buffalo Wild Wings.

MVES 2012 Art & Writing Contest: “If only it could talk…”

The 2012 Art & Writing Contest has the most open and fun theme EVER! As always, students can go wherever their creativity leads them in writing, illustrating and taking pictures that reflect the theme.

Entry Categories:

• Literature (submitted on 8.5 x 11” paper handwritten or in an easy to read font)
• Visual Arts (may not exceed 11 inches by 14  inches, including a mat)
• Photography (entries may not exceed 11 inches by 14 inches, including the mat. NO tri fold boards, please.)

General Guidelines:

• Theme: “If only it could talk…”
• MVES Students only
• No more than 2 entries in each category per student
• Each work of art needs a separate entry form

Age categories:

• Preschool through Second Grade
• Third Grade through Fifth Grade

All entrants receive a Certificate of Participation.  All entries will be on display at the MVES Talent Show and award winners in each category and age division will be announced that evening!
